Job Description:
- Technical Authority, the job holder will make the final technical decision within the defined areas of responsibility.
- Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams and pre-project environments.
- Ensure the application of EP technical safety specifications in the design and preparatory work related to conceptual and pre-project phases of new developments and extensions to existing facilities.
- Carry out studies related to technical safety, i.e. HAZID, HAZOP at the request of the HSE leader through line supervision.
- Prepare Safety Concept documents for projects associated with new developments and / or extensions or modifications to existing installations.
- Participate to Layout reviews for new developments to ensure that necessary safety considerations have been fully taken into account in the design.
- Perform gap analysis studies for existing installations to determine where gaps may exist with current EP referential for technical safety requirements.
- Provide assistance to Package managers for preparation, organisation performance and follow-up of Project Technical Reviews #3 and #4.
- Assist in reviewing and analysing requests for exemption to the use of Company Rules and requests of derogation to the use of General Specifications.
- Maintain and update the Engineering expertise in safety in the design of facilities (layout, fire and gas detection and protection, fixed firefighting equipment, evacuation, escape and rescue etc.).
- Ensure that technological risks for new or modified E&P developments are identified, assessed and managed in accordance with relevant statutory, Group and E&P requirements.
- Be able to perform risk assessment studies of new production facilities on behalf of Safety Leader
- Ensure that cost-effective solutions to risk management are proposed to enable the optimum level of safety in operation to be achieved.
- Manage the activities of contracted services used for specific safety and risk management studies.
