Qualifications:
Completion of Secondary technical education (12 years) plus 2 years training Instrumentation or Automatic Control Engineering and distributed control systems.
Experience:
5 years experience in Instrumentation Maintenance and Repair in the Oil or Petro-Chemical Industry
Job Description:
- Receive verbal or written assignment from supervisor, diagnose faulty electronic or pneumatic instrumentation, establish requirements for tools and parts, and length of time, obtain necessary permits and study appropriate circuit plans and procedures for repair.
- Install, maintain or repair a variety of electronic and pneumatic instrumentation’s and computers.
- Test, calibrate and reinstall repaired electronic and pneumatic instruments ensuring accuracy of operation and recording of data, both within a system or circuit, and in synchronization with others.
- Modify configuration of TDC 2000, CENTUM data base as well as the PLC’s programmes, as instructed by Supervisor.
- Carry out preventive and routine maintenance schedules on all units as instructed by the supervisor and in accordance with maintenance procedures.
- Advise supervisor of requirements for spare parts, materials or tools as necessary.
- Ensure all maintenance records are completed including work orders, work reports and the maintenance log describing the fault, time, labour and materials used and the recorded values.
