Qualifications:
Completion of Secondary technical education (12 years) plus 2 years formal technical education in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
7 years experience in Electrical Installation and repair work, preferably in the oil or petrochemical industry.
Job Description:
- Receive work orders, wiring plans and diagrams from supervisor, evaluate job and determine material, equipment, transport and other essentials as required.
- Check and rectify faults on a variety of equipment using a variety of techniques. Liaise with Production Department before resetting the system and informing the Supervisor to obtain authority to energize.
- Assist Technicians in their work, providing technical instructions and inspecting completed work to ensure conformity to required standards.
- Maintain a record of work carried out and updated the maintenance log describing the cause of the fault, nature of the work and the materials, manpower and time taken to complete the task.
- Ensure all electrical installation and maintenance work is performed in accordance with regulations. Obtain appropriate safety permits before commencing work.
- Advise the Supervisor of required spares and materials.
- Perform minor modifications to plant electrical equipment and update the relevant drawings/documentation.
