Qualifications:
Completion of Secondary technical education (12 years) + 2 years training in Mechanical Engineering.
Good knowledge of English
Experience:
5 years mechanical maintenance experience preferably in the oil or petrochemical industry
Job Description:
- Receive work orders, review assigned work, arrange for necessary materials, tools, equipment and ‘permits to work’, assign tasks and follow-up until satisfactory completion.
- Inspect and diagnose faults on major equipment, checking for corrosion, bent or cracked parts.
- Carry out preventive and defect maintenance of major equipment.
- Reinstall, repaired units on locations and run off-load and stream tests to ensure proper operation. Check equipment and machinery for over-heating and leaks, and ensure that all safety devices are functioning normally.
- Update all maintenance records entering in the maintenance log the nature of the fault, the work carried out and the time, labour and materials used including any measured values recorded.
- Advise the Supervisor on shortages and quality of spare parts, materials or equipment.
- Give work direction to Technicians and helpers.
- Assist in on-the-job training of subordinates.
