Job Role Description:
Shutdown Engineer will require strong safety leadership with SIMOPS and clash analysis mitigation experience. Must be knowledgeable of construction management practices, production facility / Operating Unit concepts (onshore and offshore) and working knowledge of shutdown planning and execution concepts. Must have excellent interpersonal and coordination skills and must be able to drive the SDMS processes. Ability to effectively mentor the Shutdown Coordinator, Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and other support personnel required. Engineering degree preferred but not required.
Be a subject matter expert on the SDMS PBP and related tools. Mentor SD Coordinator and other disciplines at site on the SDMS process and the implementation of the tools within the process. Checkpoints to ensure quality of work are implemented and maintained Lead RBWS review sessions with integrated onsite team.
Tracks progression of all work scopes through tracking tool Assists in ensuring all activities are integrated into one plan Schedules and documents shutdown planning meetings Monitors shutdown progress and provides management update report daily to SD Coordinator Manages all scope changes through change requests and tracks progress Gathers documentation and information to assist SD Coordinator in building Gate packages for management review Participates safety leadership tours Complete best practice reviews as they apply to scope. Leads SIMOPS, Lean Thinking Reviews, Contingency Planning and constructability reviews.
Experience & Competency Requirements:
Engineering degree preferred but not required. 7+ years experience in the oil & gas industry 5+ years of strong planning experience, estimating, organizational skills & technical data management.
7+ years of experience in cost management, contract administration, field supervision and project management Has held role of SD Coordinator/Manager in at least 3 events, Has to have planned and executed at least one medium complexity SD Knowledge of Environmental, safety and loss prevention processes and practices Effective communication skills (written, oral and computer) Strong excel, power point, and word experience
